Protection

Child protection is defined as being the process of protecting individual children identified as either suffering, or likely to suffer significant harm because of abuse or neglect. TASS runs protection programs in Puntland in partnership with various funding partners. We do this in consultation with relevant line ministries. We provide prevention and response services to the children and adults facing protection concerns such as Child Abuse, Sexual and Gender Based Violence, and Displacement through community awareness raising, capacity building for the stakeholders and support services to the victims. Annually, TASS supports around 20,000 individuals directly or indirectly with protection services, PSS, Referrals, medical support, legal support and reunification and provision of safe shelter and meals in addition advocacy and prevention services are constantly undertaken by TASS protection teams in various regions of Puntland.
